We all live in 21 st century where most people don’t believe in ghosts. so what if I say ghosts are real and you, yes the person reading this blog have seen the ghost very often.

You might think from the thumbnail and title itself, this blog is something to do with the sky.

As I said above, ghosts are real. not the ghost you come across those crappy films, ghosts that come after their death or the story your grandma said to you.

what I am saying ghost here are those heavenly bodies out there on your sky, that you are seeing it daily.

Yes, every star you are seeing in the night sky is how the star was in the past, some stars are far from us which means we are seeing the light of the star which emits by the star hundred years of ago

let's get to know some cool science stuff, light travels at the speed of 299,792 kilometers per second which means light can travels 299,792 km in just a second.

So, here is the cool thing. the moon is 384,400 km away from us (earth), the light from the moon takes approximately one second to reach our eyes which means you're seeing the moon from the one sec past and the sun is 148.59 million km away from the earth, its light takes approximately 8 min & 20 sec to reach the earth, which means your seeing the sun from the 8 min in past.so what about the stars, the closest star to us Proxima Centauri is about 4.24 light-years away from us, so the light from this star that we are seeing now is emitted back in around 2016.

Let's take other famous things in the night sky

Pleiades

The Pleiades or the seven sisters (karthigai naskthram in Tamil astrology) is about 400 light-years away from us which means the light which we are seeing now is emitted when Galileo invented the first telescope here or when European colonization becomes in India.

Andromeda Galaxy

The nearest major galaxy to our milky way is about 2.5 million light-years away from us, we are seeing andromeda light that released from the galaxy when our ancestors are first trying to use stone weapons to hunting in the paleolithic age.

Centaurus Cluster

This is a cluster of hundreds of galaxies, located approximately 170 million light-years away in the Centaurus constellation. and here is the cool fact if anyone there now uses a giant telescope and turns it on to the earth, they can see dinosaurs roaming the planet.

Some stars billions of light-years away from us, so it takes billion years for the light to reach us and some are so far away, that the star itself died even the light came to us, we are seeing the light of the star when the star died and no more in-universe and literally we are seeing ghost of the star😛.

So next time when you go for stargazing keep in mind that you are seeing ghosts up there and make some gestures to them.

I hope you enjoyed this blog and do comment your thoughts.

Thank you.
